Climate change is becoming a serious threat to the world that needs not a local or national response but a global one. With unexpected torrential rains falling on vulnerable areas of the developing world, it is urgent that we act now. Expanding the use of renewable energy on a global scale can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the implementation of strategies to enhance the energy efficiency of buildings, transportation, and industrial processes is also crucial.
This can lower energy consumption and reduce the overall carbon footprint. Protecting existing forests and initiating reforestation projects will also help sequester carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, preserve biodiversity, and maintain essential ecosystem services.
