LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to conduct comprehensive fitness tests for national cricketers ahead of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, scheduled to begin on August 21 in Rawalpindi.
According to team management sources, players selected for the Test squad are expected to be called in on August 9, with the fitness tests slated for August 10. These tests are crucial as they will influence the final selection of players for the central contracts, which the PCB has yet to announce.
The PCB is placing significant emphasis on maintaining high fitness standards, aligning the evaluation process with international criteria. Players will undergo five to six different tests, assessing various aspects of their physical condition.
