LAHORE:Taking a significant step towards water conservation, Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) has partnered with an organisation to install green taps to prevent water wastage.
Wasa Director Mudassar Javed on Friday said that initially, these green taps have been installed at Jamia Masjid Bait-ul-Islam in Gulberg. “These taps are designed to save water during ablution. Islam teaches us moderation in the use of resources. Water is a precious gift from Allah and it is our collective responsibility to conserve it,” he said.
He informed that each tap is expected to save approximately 75,000 liters of water annually. He noted that the installation of these green taps is a cost-effective and efficient method for water conservation. “This collaboration between Wasa Lahore and the Quest of Happiness Foundation is a step towards protecting our water resources,” he added.
He also urged all mosques in provincial capital to support this initiative by installing these modern taps, highlighting that together, millions of liters of water can be saved through this initiative.
