LAHORE: Police apprehended eight persons, including four women, for blackmailing and extorting money from victims through honey traps. The accused were identified as Aqeel, Asif, Ashraf, Azeem, Urooj, Komal, Abida and Shamim. The female suspects used mobile phones to lure wealthy individuals into their trap. The victims were then called to a specific location where their co-accused would record indecent videos of them at gunpoint. These videos were later used to blackmail the victims. Additionally, the accused would demand further payments, threatening to share the videos with the victims' loved ones if their demands were not met.
Seven die in road accidents: The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,234 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, seven people died, whereas 1,344 were injured. Out of these, 582 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 762 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
