This refers to the letter ‘Venice in Lahore’ (August 12, 2024) by Nighat Rasool. The writer expresses her thanks to the present Punjab government for bringing the amusements and pleasures of Venice to Lahore. I would also like to thank the Punjab government for transforming our otherwise dull and prosaic Rawalpindi into something similar to Amsterdam, Netherlands – a city with its own unique canals and locks.
The Punjab government has bestowed upon Rawalpindi the amazing Nullah Leh, which is now overflowing and bringing us the joys of Amsterdam's canals right in our own backyards. If this present government lasts, I am certain the province will fully transform, in a manner of speaking, into Europe. We will have no need to travel far anymore. What more can we ask for?
