ICT lights up with fireworks at F-9 Park

Islamabad:Islamabad’s F-9 Park became the heart of Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations, where a historic event brought together families, renowned artists, and the country’s first-ever drone show, created unforgettable memories.

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration organised an Independence Festival at F-9 Park, marking a significant celebration in the federal capital. The event was highlighted by Pakistan’s first-ever drone show, a spectacle that captivated the audience as 500 drones lit up the night sky, forming the Pakistani flag and other mesmerizing patterns.

Adding to the patriotic spirit, javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem’s recent gold medal victory at the Paris Olympics was also celebrated, further boosting national pride during the festivities. The festival offered free entry to citizens, allowing families to participate in the wide array of activities planned, especially for children.

Various food stalls were set up, catering to the tastes of food lovers, ensuring that everyone had something to enjoy. The event also featured performances by renowned artists, with Ali Safina and Sofia Anjum hosting the show.

Meanwhile, Sajjad Ali kept the crowd entertained, his performance energising the attendees and adding to the festive atmosphere. On the occasion, security was tight, with heavy police presence ensuring the safety of all participants. The event culminated in a spectacular fireworks display at midnight, lighting up the sky and marking the end of the festival. The 2024 Independence Festival in Islamabad was not just a celebration of freedom but also a showcase of the country’s growing technological achievements and rich cultural heritage.
