QUETTA: One person was killed and 12 other people, including 6 children were injured in two hand grenade attacks at a
hotel near Quetta Railways station, while a man was shot dead at Joint Road area by unknown armed men, on Wednesday. The police said that unknown people riding motorcycles hurled two hand grenades at a hotel and at a railways crossing bridge late evening. As many as 13 people, including five children received injuries due to grenades explosion,” a senior police officer said, adding that an eight-year-old child succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
“We have received 13 injured in the Trauma Centre and one person who received multiple injuries lost his life,” Dr Wasim Baig,
spokesman for the civil hospital said, adding that the condition of some other injured is also critical.
The armed men also attacked a check post of the security forces in Akhtarabad area, a locality on the outskirts of Quetta city
late at night which exploded near the post. However, the officials said that no human loss was reported in the grenade attack.
Another grenade was reported in Gharibabad bypass area of Noshki, The motorcyclist threw a grenade and tried to target security personnel at a checkpost. However, no casualty was reported in the attack.
However, a man was shot dead by unknown armed men in a Joint Road area between the night of Tuesday and Wednesday. He could not be identified.
