Shaheens secure third win in Top End T20 series

LAHORE: Pakistan Shaheens continued their impressive run in the Top End T20 series, claiming their third victoary by defeating Melbourne Renegades by 4 wickets in their fourth match of the tournament.

They had previously beaten Perth Scorchers and Tasmania Tigers, losing only against Melbourne Stars. Winning the toss, Pakistan Shaheens opted to field first, and their decision paid off as Melbourne Renegades were bundled out for a modest 107 runs in 18.3 overs. The Renegades struggled against the disciplined bowling of Pakistan Shaheens, losing wickets at regular intervals. At one stage, they were reeling at 67 for 7. Jay Lemire was the top scorer for the Renegades with 23 runs, while Blake McDonald added 18 runs.

Jahandad Khan was the star bowler for Pakistan Shaheens, taking 3 wickets for just 19 runs. His performance in the tournament has been exceptional, with 9 wickets to his name so far. Arif Yaqoob, Imran Junior, and Faisal Akram each contributed with two wickets each.

Pakistan Shaheens had a shaky start, losing two early wickets. Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed for 4 runs, and captain Mohammad Haris scored 17 runs before getting out. Umair bin Yusuf steadied the innings with a solid 25 runs, including one six and two fours. Usman Khan was the top scorer for the Shaheens, contributing 38 runs with one six and one four.

Despite a few more wickets falling, including Tayyab Tahir (4 runs) and Irfan Khan (12 runs), Jehandad Khan sealed the victory with a six, helping Pakistan Shaheens reach the target in 18 overs with four wickets to spare.

Pakistan Shaheens will face Bangladesh A in their fifth match of the series on Friday (today).
