Crackdown on roadside debris dumpers

LAHORE:Commissioner Lahore Zaid bin Maqsood Thursday chaired a weekly meeting of coordination committee regarding cleanliness, traffic flow, water drainage.The commissioner asked all departments of Lahore to present their performance report of the last 3 months.

He strictly instructed officers of LDA, MCL and district administration to take strict action against those who throw construction debris on roads. He said action will be on the basis of the controlled area by the department concerned. The commissioner said the working performance of all officers of Lahore district and Lahore division would be determined on the basis of KPIs. He asked officers to provide civic facilities and municipal services to citizens as a priority. He said road design change, patchwork, proper sign boards and installation of tyre killers on recommended chowks will go a long way for effective measures and smooth traffic flow in the city.

LWMC to enhance sanitation efforts

The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has mobilised its operation teams across the city to enhance sanitation efforts.

LWMC Chief Executive Officer Babar Sahib Din was actively involved in ensuring the successful implementation of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Suthra Punjab” initiative. CEO Babar Sahib Din inspected sanitation arrangements in Data Ganj Bakhsh Town and Ravi Town, including areas around Badami Bagh Lari Adda, Greater Iqbal Park, and Sabzi Mandi. He also directed special cleaning measures at Data Darbar before the start of annual Urs. The CEO LWMC highlighted that mechanical sweeping operations are being conducted both during the day and night shifts. Additionally, LWMC has launched an awareness drive in public and recreational areas.
