SUKKUR: The hearing of the murder case of slain journalist Nasrullah Gadani was adjourned until August 23 by the District and Sessions Court on Saturday. The court ordered the investigation officer to submit the final challan on the next hearing date.
PPP MNA Khalid Lund and his sons Shahbaz Lund and Noor Muhammad appeared before the Anti-Terrorism Court in connection with the case. However, due to the absence of the ATC judge, the investigation officer, Siraj Lashari, presented a report stating that there was no evidence of Khalid Lund’s involvement in the murder. Lashari attributed the crime to a personal vendetta.
The plaintiff strongly objected to the report, leading the court to extend the provisional bail of the accused and adjourn the hearing.
Speaking to reporters, Khalid Lund claimed innocence and denied any involvement in the murder or the arrest of Gadani’s friends by the Mirpur Mathilo police.
