A judicial magistrate on Tuesday extended by five days police remand of two suspects in a case pertaining to the alleged gang rape and murder of a minor girl.
The investigating officer, Shama, produced suspects Waqar Ali and Asim Ali before Judicial Magistrate (South) Zahid Ali on the completion of their physical remand and requested a two-week extension in their remand for further investigation.
The IO stated that the suspects’ custody is required for the recovery of a piece of cloth which they allegedly used to strangle the minor girl as well as for the arrest of their third accomplice. The magistrate remanded the suspect in police custody for five more days.
The body of the 12-year-old girl was found in a trash dump in the Lucky Star area last month. She had been assaulted and strangled, according to the autopsy report. A case was registered at the Saddar police station.
