LAHORE:Punjab Police have arrested 41,995 suspects involved in electricity theft across the province, including Lahore, during the last eight months.
The police have booked some 73,515 accused and completed Challans of 48,056 cases of electricity theft and submitted in courts. According to Punjab Police spokesperson, 21,483 electricity thieves were arrested in Lahore against whom 21,911 cases were registered and challans of 6,553 cases were submitted.
638,000 avail Khidmat Markaz services this year
Police Department is currently offering 14 digital services across 19 Khidmat Markaz. More than 638,000 citizens have utilised these policing services so far during year. As per a spokesman for police, over 73,000 police character certificates were issued and more than 124,000 general police verifications were completed.
Additionally, 472 crime reports were issued, over 11,000 cases of document loss were registered and over 8,000 copies of FIRs were provided. Over 212,000 learner's licences were issued and more than 121,000 regular licences were granted while over 67,000 licences were renewed. More than 3,000 duplicate licences and over 13,000 international driving licences were issued. Over 2,000 citizens got tenants registration and 273 vehicle verifications were carried out.
