Islamabad:The Cyber Crime Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Rawalpindi has arrested a man who was posing as a fake FIA officer and was involved in online sexual harassment. The operation was launched under the directives of the FIA Director General to apprehend individuals engaged in cybercrimes.
The suspect, identified as Muhammad Jaaber, was arrested in Jinnah Garden, Islamabad. He had been masquerading as a security guard at a private university while also falsely claiming to be both an American citizen and an FIA official. He used these fake identities to lure and exploit students.
According to FIA sources, Jaaber specifically targeted female students, leveraging his fabricated personas to gain their trust. During the investigation, objectionable material was recovered from his mobile phone, which he allegedly used to blackmail and harass his victims.
The accused had been engaging in these activities for several months, entrapping students in a web of deceit and sexual harassment. The FIA has initiated an investigation, and further legal proceedings are expected as the probe continues.
This arrest represents a significant advancement in the FIA’s ongoing efforts to clamp down on cybercrimes, particularly those targeting vulnerable individuals through online harassment and blackmail.
