Deadly financial crisis

Thursday, Sep 05, 2024

The country is suffering from a serious economic crisis and is practically running on loans and aid. The financial situation of the people has reached a level where some are even taking their own lives and those of their loved ones. Earlier this week, reports emerged of a woman from the Bahawalpur area throwing herself and her children in front of a train. She was apparently suffering from family disputes and financial constraints.

Such incidents reveal that the condition of the people is indeed severe. They are tired of having to suffer and are fed up with their situation. The authorities must seriously consider how many more lives will be lost to the ongoing financial crisis.

The killings of 23 people in Balochistan’s Musakhail district highlights the ongoing tensions within the country, which is already facing multiple other problems. This is not the first time such ethnic-based violence has occurred in Pakistan. It is the need of the hour to take strict notice of this problem because, if not properly dealt with, this violence can cause widespread instability. One more thing to consider is how encouraging it will be for those who seek to destabilize our country to see Pakistanis at each other’s throats. We must solve this problem before things reach this stage.
