A man allegedly killed his wife in Qasba Colony within the limits of the Pirabad police station on Wednesday.
Following the incident, police and rescuers reached the scene and transported the casualty to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where the deceased was identified as 27-year-old Nabiha, wife of Ibrahim.
According to the police, the woman was strangled to death and her body was first taken to her parents’ home before it was moved to the hospital for a postmortem examination.
The suspect called his brother in Peshawar to inform him of the murder before fleeing the scene, according to the police.
Initial reports suggest that there were disputes between the couple. The police said the search for the suspect was continuing.
