KIRKUK, Iraq: Two Iraqi army officers were killed and four soldiers were wounded in a bomb attack on Wednesday in the northern province of Kirkuk, officials said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack in which an improvised explosive device was used in a remote area between the cities of Kirkuk and Arbil, capital of autonomous Kurdistan region. “Two officers, including a colonel, were killed and four soldiers were wounded” when their vehicle drove over the IED, an Iraqi military source said on condition of anonymity.
