ISLAMABAD: There has been an extraordinary increase in the number of pending cases in the Supreme Court (SC). According to a 15-day report of cases released by the Supreme Court, the number of pending cases has increased to 60,508.
The report stated that the number of pending cases increased by 861 cases in the last 15 days. At present, there are 33,269 civil and 10,335 criminal appeals and 28 suo motu notices pending in the Supreme Court, says the report.
The report further stated that 134 applications of HR Cell and 3,361 jail petitions are also pending before the country’s highest court.
