This refers to the letter ‘No room for hatred’ (September 1, 2024) by Danial Tanvir. The alarming reality is that many students are being indoctrinated with hatred towards other faiths, perpetuating a toxic cycle that undermines our diverse nation. How can we progress as a society when our education system fosters intolerance? Pakistan's rich diversity is its greatest strength, yet many of our schools are failing to promote unity and understanding.
Our children deserve better. They deserve to learn science, math, and critical thinking – not hatred and intolerance. Inclusive education is the key. By emphasizing shared human values, we can shape young minds and foster empathy. Interfaith dialogue, cultural exchange programmes, and teaching emotional intelligence can bridge gaps between communities.
