LAHORE:The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Thursday imposed fines on the hotels who refused to install the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (EIMS).
According to a spokesperson of the PRA, the Authority has commenced imposing heavy fines on the businesses failing to install the EIMS. As per directive of PRA Chairman Nauman Yousaf, several five-star hotels have been penalised, each receiving a fine of Rs100,000.
These hotels have been granted a one-month period to complete the installation of the system. The PRA has further warned that failure to meet this deadline will result in double fines. Despite numerous reminders and awareness sessions, several establishments have yet to comply with the installation requirements. Show-cause notices have already been issued to those in violation.
Additionally, the restaurants that have installed the system but are not issuing receipts have also been cautioned. All the restaurants with an annual income of Rs6 million or more are required to implement the EIMS.
