RAWALPINDI: Aleema Khan, sister of former prime minister Imran Khan, has accused the current government of planning to kills her brother who is currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail.
Speaking to the media outside the jail, Aleema shared details of her conversation with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder chairman. “Imran Khan told us that the current rulers have decided to eliminate him while he is in jail. This is the Sharif family’s government, and they have a history of attacking the judiciary,” she claimed.
Aleema warned that the ongoing actions were not just an attack on democracy but a direct threat to the country’s justice system. “This is not just an attack on democracy but on justice itself. Tomorrow, no one will be safe from this system and its oppression,” she asserted, calling on the nation to rise and defend its freedoms.
Imran Khan, she alleged, had also spoken about recent incidents involving PTI rallies, particularly one in Sangjani, where participants were tear-gassed. “He told us that they were deceived into expecting better conditions for the rally, but tear gas was fired on peaceful participants. Now they are worried about the upcoming rally in Lahore.”
Aleema emphasised Imran Khan’s determination to press forward despite the challenges. He has urged his supporters to turn out in large numbers for the Lahore rally, promising that it would remain peaceful. He has particularly called on women to participate, underscoring that “this is our country” and a fight for freedom.
