ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice has nominated District and Sessions Judge Shahrukh Arjamand to hear Toshakhana 2 case against founder PTI Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.
It is learned Special Court Central Judge Amjad Iqbal Ranjha has been replaced on his request. Islamabad High Court Registrar Sardar Tahir Sabir has sent the name of Judge Shahrukh Arjamand to Secretary Law and Justice for notification.
Sources said Amjad Iqbal Ranjha had written a letter to IHC, saying he could not continue serving as Special Judge Central due to personal reasons. He requested the IHC his services be sent back to Lahore High Court.
After the decision of Supreme Court on NAB amendments, Toshakhana 2 case was transferred from Accountability Court to the court of Special Judge Central Amjad Iqbal Ranjha.
Judge Amjad Ranjha was on vacation this week. Special Judge Central 2 Humayun Dilawar, while hearing as a duty judge, issued a notice to founder PTI and Bushra Bibi for September 16. The notice said next hearing will be held by Special Judge Central Amjad Iqbal.
