LDA to recover uplift charges from defaulting allottees at new rates

LAHORE: LDA Governing Body, in its second meeting chaired by LDA Vice Chairman Mian Marghoob Ahmed on Friday, approved the recovery of development charges at new rates from defaulter allottees of the first and second ballots of LDA City after giving them two-month timeline for payments on old rates.

The extension of one year was granted to the payment schedule for defaulters of commercial plots and file holders in Jinnah Sector, LDA City. The powers to decide terms and conditions for the sale of new plots in Jinnah Sector, LDA City, were assigned to the supervisory committee, and approval granted for special feature charges for plots on uniform pattern according to the DC rates.

During the meeting, the proposed layout plan for shops at 10.8 kanal area in Jinnah Market, Township, was approved. The proposal for the construction of missing links of structure plan roads in LDA City was also approved.

Two schemes approved: In the 27th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) for CFY 2024-25, chaired by Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan, two development schemes were approved, amounting to Rs4.488 billion.

The approved schemes include Induction of Eco-Friendly Buses in Cities of Punjab (DLI-6 PGDP) at the cost of Rs3.534 billion and Rehabilitation and Upgradation of Shujabad Canal System at the cost of Rs953.543 million.

The meeting also saw the participation of Chief Economist Masoud Anwar, members of Planning and Development Board and other senior officials.
