ISLAMABAD: PPP Information Secretary Shazia Marri has said KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has challenged the Constitution of Pakistan and is not constitutionally eligible for the CM post.
“The PTI founder has endorsed the statement of Ali Amin Gandapur of September 8 instead of opposing it and the only thing the PTI founder did in the country was to spread unrest,” she said in a press talk outside the Parliament House on Saturday along with PPP MNAs Tahir Rasheeduddin and Mustafa Mehmood. Shazia said the incidents of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were increasing. “Ali Amin Gandapur is not eligible for the post of chief minister as he has challenged the Constitution of Pakistan,” she said, adding that he used foul language against journalists and women.
She said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari always advocated dialogue in politics. “Even when our leader Benazir Bhutto was martyred, Asif Ali Zardari raised the slogan of ‘Pakistan Khappay’ (long live Pakistan).” She said the nation was disappointed because only one person’s release and facilities for him were being chanted in the parliament. The PPP always advocated the supremacy of parliament as it was only parliament where people’s issues are resolved.
She said the PPP wanted to restore the spirit of the Charter of democracy. She said if the PPP was supporting this government, it was supporting it for the country as the country needed stability.
Tahir said he won the RYK by-election with the votes of people and always talked about the problems of people. Murtaza said Tahir won the by-poll as he was the voice of people, that’s why he got more than 100,000 votes.
