Lost talent

Tuesday, Sep 17, 2024

The exodus of skilled and talented people from Pakistan has reached alarming proportions, with millions of young professionals having left a country that sorely needs them. This problem is exacerbated by widespread recruitment based on political favouritism and cronyism, which leaves many deserving citizens disheartened and disadvantaged. It appears that the fate of those who remain in this country is to constantly make compromises with an unjust system.

Meanwhile, those who go abroad have to give up a life in their homeland and are pulled away from their families in search of better opportunities. Pakistanis are eager to escape this cycle of sacrifice. The government should understand the gravity of this situation and act before the country loses all the talent it has.
