The Karachi chapter of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) is set to hold an Al-Aqsa million march on Sunday (today) on Sharea Faisal to express solidarity with the Palestinians and other victims of Israeli brutality.
All arrangements for the event had been finalised, with one lane of the road allocated for women and children. JI Pakistan Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman was scheduled to address the march. Meanwhile, JI Karachi chief Monem Zafar visited the City Court in Karachi and met with the Karachi Bar Association (KBA) President and other office bearers to invite them to the march. The legal community expressed overwhelming support for the event.
Following the visit, Zafar, KBA President Amir Nawaz Waraich and KBA leaders held a joint press conference. During the event, Waraich paid tribute to Palestinian freedom fighters and emphasised that students in the US and other Western countries had been protesting against their governments for supporting the Israeli regime.
He criticised Muslim governments for their inadequate response, noting their silence amid ongoing crimes against humanity.
