LAHORE: The Teaching Staff Association (TSA) of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore celebrated Teachers' Day with a special ceremony here on Saturday.
UET Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Munir was the chief guest on this occasion. During his address, Dr Shahid Munir highlighted the teachers’ crucial role in the structuring of a society.
He said, “We must respect our teachers, and in turn, teachers should uphold their responsibilities. A successful society cannot thrive without dedicated teachers.”
He reiterated that the welfare of faculty members would remain a top priority during his leadership at the University of Engineering and Technology.
Dr Munir assured attendees that a long-awaited 25% allowance, which had been deferred due to financial constraints, would be reinstated for all employees and teachers once the university's financial situation improves.
The ceremony was attended by deans of all faculties, heads of departments, teachers, Teaching Staff Association President Dr Amjad Hussain, General Secretary Dr Asif Rafiq and Director PHEC Dr Tanveer Qasim.
They reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the educational environment at University of Engineering and Technology Lahore.
