LAHORE: Mixed trend in the prices of perishable items was recorded this week as majority of vegetables rates further increased while seasonal fruits rates also remained high. Further, non-implementation of the official rates added to the woes to the general public which also reflects the non-seriousness of the elected representatives towards the basic public problems. The district administration asked the consumers to register their complaints on overcharging and rate list violations against such sellers. However, the complaints are being closed without addressing. Rather, such complaints further encourage the sellers for overcharging and rate violations after no action from the authorities.
