LAHORE:Continuing its operation against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters, the LDA teams on Monday sealed more than 60 properties.
So far this is the biggest sealing in a single day done by the LDA team during this month. The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner-II Azhar Ali while Director Town Planning Zone-IV Ali Nusrat led the team. LDA teams sealed 24 illegal commercial properties situated on Khayaban Fardosi in Johor Town and adjoining areas. During the operation, the LDA teams sealed well-known restaurants, food points, showrooms, bakeries, cafe shops, and other properties.
In another operation, supervised by the Chief Town Planner-I Asad Zaman and led by Director Town Planning Zone-II Ahmed Saeed and Director Town Planning Zone-III 3 Sidra Tabasam. LDA teams sealed three dozen properties on Multan Road and in Gulberg. The teams sealed a dozen illegal commercial properties on Multan Road by Town Planning Zone II while team of TP-III sealed two dozen properties in Gulberg for illegal commercial use and non-payment of commercial fees. These properties included private banks, stores, travel offices, clinics, labs, private schools, offices, showrooms, pizza shops, restaurants, halls, pharmacies and others.
Asad Zaman said several notices were given to these properties before the operation. He said the operations against illegal commercial buildings/commercial fee defaulting properties will continue without discrimination.
Meanwhile, on the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and on the instructions of LDA DG Tahir Farooq, the LDA enforcement department removed encroachments by conducting an operation against illegal encroachments at Karim Block Market, Moon Market, Iqbal Town and Scheme Mor.
The teams removed illegal garment counters from all sides of Karim Market, cleared the encroachments and seized two trucks of goods. Police, heavy machinery and LDA enforcement squad participated in the operation.
