LAHORE: All types of diseases related to Urology are being treated at Lahore General Hospital (LGH) under the leadership of Prof Dr Khizr Hayat Gondal, using modern technology instead of traditional surgery, which is a welcoming development for patients.

Young doctors should specialise in Urology and Nephrology to ensure the prevention of kidney and bladder diseases.

According to a press release, these views were expressed by former President of the Pakistan Association of Urological Surgeons (PAUS) Dr Mumtaz Ahmed, addressing participants of the two-day training course organised for new urologists

at Lahore General Hospital under the Health Education Programme of PAUS Lahore Chapter and PGMI.

Prof Dr Mumtaz Ahmad also highlighted that due to the adulteration of food, lack of clean drinking water, and environmental pollution, kidney and urinary diseases were increasing day by day, and cases of kidney failure were becoming more common. He mentioned that considering this situation, relevant institutions need to work quickly to eradicate adulteration and enhance the number of kidney and bladder disease experts to ensure satisfactory patient treatment.

FCPS Part 2 and MS Urology students from across the country attended the training course.

This course was organised by Prof Khizr Hayat Gondal.

Senior medical teachers across the country, including Prof Dr Mumtaz Ahmed, Prof M Nazir, Prof Fawad Nasrullah, Prof Shams, Prof Fazal Niazi, Prof Hafiz Shahzad, Prof Nawaz Bhatti, Prof Naveed Iqbal, Prof Safdar Khan, Prof Asad Shah, Prof Nadeem Bin Nusrat, Prof Brig (r) Akmal, Prof Ijaz Siddiqui, Prof Nisar, and Prof Akram Malik, delivered their lectures.
