LAHORE: Off-spinner Laiba Nasir, with impressive figures of 5 for 5, helped Conquerors register a 9-wicket win over Challengers in the National Under-19 Women’s Cricket Tournament at the LCCA Ground on Wednesday.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Conquerors’ bowlers dismissed Challengers for a low score of 34 in just 15 overs.
Laiba dismantled the Challengers' batting line-up, removing the opening pair at eight runs and achieving the second five-wicket haul of the tournament. Minahil Javaid and Ayesha Imran Riaz added two wickets each while Fatima Khan picked up one.
Conquerors chased down the modest target of 35 runs in only 3.3 overs, losing just their captain Komal Khan who contributed 13 runs. Komal, it may be added, remains so far the tournament's top run-scorer with 161 runs.
