LDA starts open courts after two years

LAHORE : LDA, on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has started a series of open courts after a gap of two years.

In this regard, LDA Vice Chairman Mian Marghub Ahmed and LDA DG Tahir Farooq presided over the open court on Thursday in which hundreds of citizens piled up complaints against different wings of LDA especially Town Planning, Housing, One Window and etc while a large number of citizens also complained against the illegal schemes.

Citizens expressed their problems regarding possession of plots in private schemes, release of mortgage plots, provision of basic facilities, development, encroachment in LDA schemes, presence of cattle, security and other issues. Many overseas also presented their problems before the Vice Chairman LDA and LDA DG.

VC LDA said that the purpose of the open court was to hear directly from the citizens about their problems. He said LDA was carrying out record sifting and digital reforms besides securing property and investment of the citizens.

LDA DG said that the Citizen Facilitation Center has been upgraded and further reforms were being made. Open door policy has been adopted as per the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab and all possible steps will be taken to provide relief to the common man.

He said further reforms will be done in the light of the feedback and problems of the citizens who came to the open court. The citizens appreciated the initiative of holding the open court. Additional DGs, Chief Town Planners, Director Admin, Housing and all the Directors of Town Planning participated.
