US DCM appreciates facilities at Breast Cancer Screening Centre

Islamabad : Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at the US Embassy in Islamabad Natalie A. Baker visited the public sector Federal Breast Cancer Screening Centre at the Pakistan Institute of

Medical Sciences in the capital city and appreciated its modern medical facilities.

"Being here, able to walk around and visit the facility, I am so impressed and so pleased and thankful for your cooperation with our embassy, with our fantastic health unit team that has been ongoing for several years now and we hope is just the beginning of our long-standing relationship," she said.

The US DCM also attended a special awareness session.

Health experts said

that screening programme was really very impo-

rtant for early breast cancer detention that saved lives.

They said that Pakistani women had limited access to healthcare, particularly breast cancer screening, so the Breast Cancer Screening Centre at PIMS had been a beacon of hope for those seeking free breast cancer care.

The experts urged women to show up for early detection, getting awareness and finding cure to protect lives.

They said that breast cancer was a major global health challenge, impacting millions annually.

The experts said that awareness, early detection, and accessible treatment were imperative to improve survival rates.
