LAHORE: Punjab Youth Affairs and Sports Department has signed an MoU with Bank of Punjab regarding Chief Minister Internship Programme at a ceremony held at National Hockey Stadium on Friday.
Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar was the chief guest at the ceremony. The MoU was signed by Additional Secretary Sports Mian Usman Ali and GM Bank of Punjab Nofal Daud.
Secretary Sports Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial gave a briefing about the Chief Minister Internship Programme. He informed that 55,000 youth visited the website of Chief Minister Internship Programme while HEC has verified the degrees of all the beneficiaries of Chief Minister Internship Programme. Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial, DG Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal, Additional Secretary Sports Mian Usman Ali, DG PITB Sajid Latif, Bank of Punjab General Manager Nofal Daud, Amna Randhawa of Chamber of Commerce, Director PITB Ahmed Islam, Director Admin M Kaleem, Project Director PMU Qaiser Raza were also present at the ceremony.
Talking on this occasion, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that the Chief Minister Punjab Internship Programme will prove to be very helpful for educated unemployed youth. ‘Thousands of youths will be given Rs25,000 per month for a period of six months.’ He said that around 12,000 applications have been approved for the Chief Minister Internship Programme. ‘A large number of young university graduates have applied for the Programme. Our aim is to make the youth financially stable for the development of the country,’ he added.
