KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board has started dismantling the electronic screen that blocks fans’ view in the Intikhab Alam Enclosure at National Stadium, part of planned upgrades before the ICC Champions Trophy.
The screen obstructs sightlines for about 1,500 seats. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi directed its relocation during a recent inspection.
The removal process began with detaching LED panels from the screen, with the rest of the structure to be taken down shortly. A smaller screen structure in front of the Waqar Hasan Enclosure has already been cleared.
The PCB is considering moving the screen between the Majid Khan and Zaheer Abbas enclosures at a higher elevation, pending final approval after a survey. Additional plans include installing two larger screens at raised positions on either side of mid-wicket to improve the view for fans throughout the stadium.
