ACE session stresses accountability in public service

LAHORE : Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab Director General Sohail Zafar held a briefing at Anti-Corruption Headquarters, engaging law students from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).

The session aimed to provide an in-depth understanding of legal and institutional framework guiding anti-corruption efforts in the province. Talking to students, the director general outlined the critical measures and policies implemented by the government to combat corruption, emphasising the need for transparency, accountability, and integrity in public service.

He elaborated on the structural components of anti-corruption initiatives, highlighting the ACE’s role in promoting ethical governance.

Director General Sohail Zafar also stressed the importance of addressing the needs of marginalised sections of society, including women, children, the elderly, and minorities. He conveyed that efforts to combat corruption must extend beyond institutional frameworks, advocating for a compassionate approach that ensures protection and uplift of most vulnerable groups in society. He reiterated that true progress in anti-corruption efforts is only possible when all segments of population are supported and empowered.

Moreover, he expressed a firm commitment to cultivating a culture of decency and civility within anti-corruption operations.
