Islamabad : Riphah International University (RIU) organised a breast cancer awareness session at Gulberg Greens Campus as the concluding event of a series of impactful sessions conducted throughout Pink October, says a press release.
The theme of the session was Advocate, Contribute, and Act, encouraging participants to take active steps in supporting women’s health. Dr. Maryam Iftikhar, a renowned consultant surgeon at Pakistan Railway Hospital. A part of Riphah Healthcare Services (RHS), was invited to share valuable insights on the latest advancements in breast cancer treatment, highlighting how early detection can significantly improve outcomes. Professionals from Riphah Institute of Lifestyle medicine focused on the significance of healthier lifestyle in combating this disease.
Additionally, students from the Islamic International Medical College (IIMC) and Riphah Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (RIPS) led engaging activities focused on lifestyle changes, inspiring participants to adopt healthier routines. The event, attended by a large number of students and faculty members, focused on raising awareness about breast cancer, early detection, and treatment options. Riphah International University continues to make a meaningful impact on women’s health, and this initiative highlights the university’s strong commitment to promoting health and education.
