ISLAMABAD: Ahmed Zafar Hayat carded an impressive last round of four under 67 to win the 17th CNS Amateur Golf Trophy here at the Margalla Greens Sunday.
Facing a three-stroke deficit going into the final round, Ahmed carded five birdies and a bogie to end up at four under 67 on the 71-par course.
Muhammad Irtaza Hussain emerged winner of the net category as he surrendered his three strokes lead to hand over the initiative to his mentor. Inamul Haq Malik and Umar Farooq finished second and third respectively in the gross event.
Hamna Amjad won ladies gross trophy with Amu Quin and Anna James finishing second and third respectively. Capt Alam Afzal emerged winner in the senior amateur men’s gross title followed by Brig Mohsin Farooq and Brig Masood Qureshi.
Abdullah Khan won junior gross category followed by Mahad Khan and Master Abdullah.
Afzal Javed (main category) and Nasir Naqvi (over 50) won media events.
