KARACHI: Abbas Afridi, who has been named in Pakistan’s T20 squad for the series against Australia, said he is confident in the team’s plans to tackle the challenges they’ll face down under.
Speaking to reporters during a training camp in Karachi, Afridi emphasised the camp’s importance for skill refinement.
“The camp has been extremely helpful. We’re focused on our skills, which is crucial as we prepare for the tough conditions in Australia,” Afridi said.
“I’ve played in Australia before, so I have an idea of what to expect. We have strategies for our opponents, and I’m ready to give my best,” he said.
Responding to a question, Afridi expressed his eagerness to learn from experienced players, naming Pat Cummins as someone he admires. “Cummins is a great player, and I’d love to pick up some tips from him during the series,” he added.
Afridi also shared his goal of becoming a strong all-rounder for Pakistan, saying he is putting in the effort to improve his batting as well. “I’ve always enjoyed batting, and I want to become a proper all-rounder” he said.
