LAHORE: In response to worsening air quality, the director general of the Environmental Protection Agency Punjab has ordered the closure of all classes up to 5th grade in both public and private schools within Lahore district.
School Education Department (SED) Punjab on Sunday issued a notification in this regard stating that the order, issued under the Punjab Environmental Protection Act, 1997, will keep the schools closed from November 4 (today) to November 9, 2024 for primary classes. The Chief Executive Officer of District Education Authority (DEA) Lahore has been directed to ensure compliance of the order.
