LAHORE: At least 29 people were injured when a speeding bus overturned near Ijtima Pul No 2, Raiwind here on Sunday. Rescue teams arrived promptly at the scene after being notified and initiated a rescue operation. Thirteen of the injured were given first aid on the spot, while 16 others, who sustained serious injuries, were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
According to police, the accident occurred due to the bus being driven at high speed. The injured were identified as Aslam, Makki, Waheed Khan, Arshad Iqbal, Hamidullah, Sanaullah, Ali, Riaz Ali, Baz Muhammad, Ghulam Abbas, Zohaib, Arif, Ali Sher, Salim, Abdul Ghaffar, Allah Ditta, Shahbaz, Abdullah, Matti, Javed, Tariq Aziz, Assad Ali, Irfan Naseer, Akram, Haneef, Tariq, Musharaf, Umair and Basat.

11 die in road accidents in 24 hours: The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,473 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, 11 people died, whereas 1,547 were injured. Out of these, 701 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 846 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
