LAHORE: Declining trend in the prices of fruits, vegetables and chicken was recorded, but the consumers could not benefit from the reduced prices due to non-implementation of official rate list.
Overcharging and artificial price hike have become a regular feature in markets, with inaction of the district administration, who has failed to stabilise prices of edibles. Sellers are fluting official rates and selling their items 20 to 25 per cent higher than the fixed rates.
The price of chicken was further reduced by Rs15 per kg, and fixed at Rs359-373 per kg, sold at Rs400-430 per kg and chicken meat by Rs22 per kg, fixed at Rs540 per kg, and sold Rs550-800 per kg.
The price of potato sugar free A-grade gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs87-95 per kg, sold at Rs140-150 per kg, B-grade by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs75-80 per kg, and C-grade by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs65-70 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs100-120 per kg.
The price of onion A-grade gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs122-130 per kg, sold at Rs160-170 kg, B-grade unchanged at Rs112-120 per kg, and C-grade at Rs95-100 per kg, mixed sold at Rs130-140 per kg.
The price of tomato A-grade declined by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs103-110 per kg, sold at Rs160-180 per kg, B-grade by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs84-90 per kg, and C-grade at Rs70-75 kg, mixed sold at Rs120–140 per kg.
The price of garlic local reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs400-415 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg, Garlic Harnai by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs420-435 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, Garlic GI variety gained by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs265-275 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg and Garlic China declined by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs570-590 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg.
The price of both Ginger Thai and Chinese was declined by Rs250 per kg, fixed at Rs505-525 per kg, both sold at Rs600-800 per kg.
Cucumber Farm further reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg, and cucumber local by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs67-70 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg. Brinjal price went down by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs62-65 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg. Biter gourd further reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs105-110 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg.
The price Spinach further declined by Rs10 per kg, foxed at Rs28-30 at Rs60-70 per kg. Zucchini local reduced buy Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs140-145 per kg, not sold, Zucchini farm reduced by Rs40 per kg, fixed at 76-80 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg, and Zucchini long by Rs30 per kg fixed at Rs67-70 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.
Pumpkin was unchanged at Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg. The lemon Chinese was further reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs65-70 per kg, sold at Rs200-250 per kg.
Green chili A grade was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs185-190 per kg, sold at Rs300-320 per kg, Grene chili B-grade by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs145-150 per kg, sold at Rs200-240 per kg.
Capsicum price was further gained surged by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs345-360 per kg, sold at Rs450 per kg. Price of cauliflower was further reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs130-150 kg, cabbage by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs76-80 per kg, sold Rs150-160 per kg.
Carrot Chinese unchanged at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs200-250 per kg, carrot local at Rs72-75 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg. Arum was gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs145-150 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg. Ladyfinger further declined by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs150-160 per kg.
Lufa price was unchanged at Rs105-110 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg. Turnip was downed by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs150-160 per kg.
Fenugreek (Methi) further declined by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg. Pea price was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs300-310 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg. Beetroot was sold at Rs200-250 per kg. Coriander was sold at Rs30 per bundle.
Sweet Pumpkin gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs37-40 per kg, sold at Rs70-80 per kg. Beans was fixed at Rs70-120 per kg, sold at Rs250-400 per kg. Radish was unchanged at Rs23-25 per kg, sold at Rs50-80 per kg. Saag was fixed at Rs37-40 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg.
The price of different variety of apples increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs90-230 per kg, sold at Rs150-400 per kg. The price of Banana A-category reduced by Rs10 per dozen, fixed at Rs115-120 per dozen, sold at Rs180-200 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs80-85 per dozen, sold at Rs130-150 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs56-60 per dozen, sold at Rs80-120 per dozen.
Pomegranate desi was unchanged at Rs250-260 per kg, sold at Rs300-350 per kg, pomegranate kandahari was fixed at Rs175-285 per kg, sold at Rs250-350, pomegranate Bedana further increased by Rs90 per kg, fixed at Rs570-590 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg.
Dates were fixed at Rs410-425 per kg, sold at Rs600 to 1400 per kg. Papaya unchanged at Rs250-260 per kg, sold at Rs300-350 per kg.
Grapes Sunderkhani reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs290-300 per kg, sold at Rs400-500 per kg, grapes gola gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs172-180 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg, grapes tofi reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs270-280, sold at Rs350-400 per kg. Guava was fixed at Rs105-145 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg. Musami was reduced by Rs10 per dozen, fixed at Rs80-120 per dozen, sold at Rs150-180 per dozen. Persimmon was gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs182-190 per kg, sold at Rs250-350 per kg. Sweet potato was gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs130-150 per kg. Peer Gilgit was gained by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs280-290 per kg, sold at Rs400-500 per kg.
