5,736 gangs of outlaws busted

Police busted 5,736 gangs of criminal by arresting 14,316 outlaws across Punjab including Lahore. Properties and stolen goods worth Rs6.14billion including 1,662 vehicles, 25,093 motorcycles, 2,233 tolas of gold, 10,311 mobile phones, and 5,497 livestock were recovered and handed over to their owners.

Additionally, Rs6.19billion in cash was recovered from criminals wanted in various cases. A spokesperson for the Punjab police said in Lahore alone, 3,198 gangs were busted, resulting in the arrest of 7,338 criminals. Stolen goods worth over Rs2.098billion were recovered in Lahore, including 909 vehicles, 14,155 motorcycles, 5,264 mobile phones, 206 tolas of gold, and 125 livestock.

Meanwhile, Punjab IG Dr Usman Anwar has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Inspector Awais Khan of traffic police in an accident.

The IG extended his heartfelt condolences to Awais Khan's family. Dr Usman Anwar has directed supervisory officers to stay closely connected with the family and provide every possible support. Inspector Awais Khan lost his life on Tuesday after being struck by a tractor-trolley.
