10 suspects held as gang of street criminals busted

The Anti-Street Crime Cell in Keamari carried out a major operation in the Pak Colony area of Karachi, arresting a 10 members of a gang of robbers active in the city.

A large amount of weaponry, stolen motorcycles, mobile phones, and cash were recovered from the suspects’ possession. According to Keamari SSP Captain (retired) Faizan Ali, the gang was involved in hundreds of incidents, including house robberies, street crimes, and motorcycle thefts.

From the suspects, eight pistols, eight stolen mobile phones, four stolen motorcycles, and 200,000 rupees in cash were seized. The gang had also looted two houses in the Pak Colony area, and cases for those incidents had already been registered.

The gang committed two heists where they stole 1.132 million rupees, over 15 tolas of gold, 7 mobile phones, a laptop, two tablets, and a Rolex watch, the SSP reported. The suspects were also wanted in four cases of street crime registered at the Pak Colony police station. The recovered motorcycles had been stolen from the areas of Sharea Faisal, Al-Falah, Kharadar, and Garden. The gang members include Bilal, Muhammad Noman, Sameer, Abdul Jabbar, Muhammad Anwar, Parvez, Bilal son of Gulzar, Kashif, Raza, and Umar Farooq. Most of these suspects had previously been arrested in several cases.

Suspect Muhammad Bilal, son of Gulzar, had been jailed in 12 cases before. Other suspects had also been imprisoned in multiple cases. Further investigations are ongoing with cases registered against the suspects at Pak Colony police station, according to SSP Faizan Ali.
