LAHORE : The vice-chancellors of Punjab University and University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore along with their respective a delegations visited the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal and laid floral wreaths and offered fateha for the departed soul.
In his message, Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Ali paid tribute to the services of the great poet, philosopher and thinker of the sub-continent. While recording his comments in the visitor’s book, the VC said that the nation will always remain thankful to Allama Iqbal, who gave the idea of establishing a separate homeland for the Musilms of the Subcontinent. The vice chancellor also prayed for the prosperity of the country and the nation.
Meanwhile, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore Vice Chancellor of the Prof Dr Shahid Munir also visited the mausoleum of the national poet and philosopher Dr Allama Iqbal on the occasion of his 147th birth anniversary.
Accompanied by a delegation from UET, Dr Munir offered fateha at Mizar-e-Iqbal and laid a floral wreath as a tribute to the great thinker.
Dr Munir emphasised the enduring relevance of Iqbal's teachings, stating, “Allama Iqbal’s wisdom guides us on the path forward, and we must embrace his vision to contribute to the prosperity and progress of our nation.”
During his visit, Dr Munir prayed for the security and prosperity of Pakistan and offered special prayer for Iqbal's soul. He also recorded his thoughts in the guestbook at the mausoleum.
