LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has summoned administrators from eight private housing societies on allegations of unauthorized use of the Wapda’s name in various districts across Punjab, including Lahore.
According to the FIA spokesperson, these housing societies have been instructed to appear at the FIA’s Lahore office on November 14. The FIA Lahore issued notices to eight private housing societies across Punjab for using the Wapda’s name without approval.
The spokesperson stated that these societies incorporated the Wapda name and logo into their titles without permission. FIA is also seeking explanations from the societies on how and why they used the Wapda name without authorization.
The spokesperson further emphasized that legal action will be taken against individuals selling plots under the unauthorized use of names of state institutions. The investigation began following a formal complaint from Wapda.
