The 26th Amendment is a promising step toward a more transparent and accountable judiciary in Pakistan. However, for its full potential to be realised, the appointment process must be complemented with judicious practices like reshuffling of high court judges. Such a practice would ensure the transfer of critical knowledge, foster equitable judicial practices and ultimately revive public confidence in Pakistan’s legal system.

In the pursuit of a just society, it’s paramount that we keep striving for reforms that bolster knowledge, professionalism, and integrity within the judiciary. As we move forward, it is crucial for lawmakers, judiciary leaders, and society at large to engage in discussions surrounding these amendments, fostering a culture of collaboration that will pave the way for judicial excellence in Pakistan.
