A man was gunned down in Orangi Town on Monday after he resisted an attempt to mug him, raising the year’s death toll of the victims of armed robbers to 100.
The incident occurred near Hazara Chowk, in the Pirabad police station’s limits. The victim was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was identified as Fayyaz Ahmed, 40. Police said that two suspects tried to snatch the victim’s phone, but when he resisted, they shot him dead. Officials said he worked at a factory in SITE Area, and was a father of three. Police have recovered the empties from the crime scene, and are trying to get footage from the CCTV cameras installed nearby so they can identify the perpetrators.
