I am baffled by the impunity with which the resources of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government are being squandered by its chief minister, all for the cause of his political party the PTI. His marches on the federal capital are often accompanied by the machinery of the provincial government, including cranes, fire brigade vehicles, dumpers etc. He also brought along a large number of employees of the KP government. Whenever he is asked about this transgression, he unabashedly says that as the CM of the province, he is authorised to order the use of all provincial resources.
In my opinion, this is a very inappropriate answer. The resources of the provinces are paid for via the people’s taxes and are to be used for their welfare only. These resources cannot, in any manner, be used for the benefit of any one political party or to put pressure on the federal government to get its leader freed from jail. I am at a loss as to why the federal government has not taken any action against this transgression.
