LAHORE:The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) teams conducted operation against illegal commercial buildings and fee defaulters on Thursday.
The operation was conducted in Gulberg, New Garden Town, Faisal Town, Allama Iqbal Town, Shadman, Gulshan Ravi, Wapda Town, Defense Road and College Road Township and sealed 96 properties and demolished several illegal structures.
The properties sealed include private schools, offices, cafes, bakeries, restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, salons, shops and others. Several notices were issued to these properties before the operation.
Meanwhile, LDA teams continued operation against illegal constructions and encroachments to safeguard its precious property in different societies.
LDA teams conducted operations in Johar Town’s F-1 Block, R-1 Block, Revenue Society and Finance and Trade Centre in Johar Town on the instructions of LDA DG Tahir Farooq. The teams removed temporary encroachments from several shops and directed workshops and shop owners to remove encroachments from the road and greenbelts. LDA teams issued a two-day notice to workshops established on Samsani Road, Johar Town to remove encroachments on their own. The operation to remove shacks from commercial plots in FTC Johar Town also continued on the second day.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of LDA DG Tahir Farooq regarding LDA Avenue One and Jubilee Town. In the meeting, a briefing was given on the steps taken on the complaints of the citizens related to two housing schemes in the open court and the ongoing works of installation of boundary walls and barriers in LDA Avenue One. The meeting was also briefed about the ongoing development works in different blocks of the scheme. A campaign to remove encroachments and livestock is underway in Avenue One and Jubilee Town.
LDA DG directed steps for the convenience of the residents of LDA Avenue One and Jubilee Town. He said that a solid mechanism should be made to resolve security and cleanliness issues for the convenience of the residents of the scheme.
