A cop of the District Korangi police who served as a police post incharge has been dismissed from service for supporting criminals.

Former Tasveer Mehal police post incharge sub-inspector Rao Fayyaz Ahmed who was transferred to B Company has been dismissed from service after he turned out to be a patron of criminals.

He had been accused of colluding with drug dealers and other criminals. He was also accused of facilitating supply of gutka and other illegal items. A confidential report against Fayyaz revealed that during his posting in District Korangi, he provided patronage to the gutka-mawa mafia, betel nut dealers, drug traffickers, land grabbers and street criminals. His private associate Bashir collected weekly extortion payments on his behalf.

He also supported street criminal Naeem, alias Boss, and a drug dealer named Ramsha. An inquiry committee found him guilty of the charges. Finance DIG Tanveer Alam Odho was appointed as the inquiry officer who confirmed all the allegations leading to Fayyaz's

dismissal from service.
